Victor passionately believes that our union can foster grassroots activism by:

• Reconnecting the union with its members
• Linking union leadership to activism in the community
• Speaking out together in unity
• Fighting for equality

Victor brings over 17 years of experience as a union activist, he is committed to and will continue to support the progressive work of the union as a member of the Provincial Executive.

Victor has put our issues out in the community…

• Active in the community raising funds for BCPWA, increasing HEU’s profile as a healthcare union
• Helped developed the HEU’s Out there for Medicare campaign
• Actively lobbied Provincial and Federal political leaders to defend Medicare
• Regularly participates in community events as a HEU member
• Politically active at all levels of government, Municipal, Provincial and Federal

And in the union and local…

• Currently 2^nd Vice President of HEU
• Canadian Labour Congress Equity Vice President for LGBT
• Vancouver and District Labour Council delegate
• Past Chair of the Provincial Bargaining Committee
• Past Chair of the Lesbian and Gay Standing Committee
• Held all positions at the local level, currently Vice Chair Steward Coordinator
