#P6 HEU paramedicals to hold strike vote mid-April

Talks resume as members work to complete essential services levels

The unions in the Paramedical Bargaining Association will be holding strike votes in the next couple of weeks as they increase the pressure on health employers to negotiate a fair collective agreement.

HEU paramedicals will receive ballots by mail or will be advised of locations where they can come and cast their votes.

The vote schedule will be put on the HEU web site at as soon as it is confirmed. A report on the status of bargaining is expected next week and will be posted as soon as it’s available.

The unions and the Health Employers Association of B.C. are scheduled to resume talks April 10-12.

HEU and other health care unions in the sector are completing essential services level agreements in facilities throughout the province in the event that job action becomes necessary.

The Paramedical Bargaining Association represents 14,000 paramedical professionals in the Hospital Employees’ Union, Health Sciences Association, B.C. Government and Service Employees’ Union, Canadian Union of Public Employees and Professional Employees’ Association.
