After holding two days of meetings with Sodexho and HEU's bargaining committee, mediator Vince Ready will now prepare recommendations for a contract settlement between the parties.

Ready was appointed to help resolve the dispute by the Labour Relations Board on November 4 - the 51st day of a strike that had expanded to include more than 1400 Sodexho workers.

He held meetings with HEU's Sodexho bargaining committee and the company at HEU's Burnaby office on Sunday and Monday this week.

Ready will make his report to the parties as soon as possible.

HEU represents Sodexho workers at more than 35 health care facilities throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, and on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast.

Sodexho has contracts with the Fraser Health Authority to provide cleaning services, the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority to provide patient and retail food services, and with four independent care facilities where it provides a range of support services.
