Strike vote tally begins

Bargaining bulletin

As talks resumed today on both facilities and community issues, HEU activists from across the province were counting up tens of thousands of ballots cast by union members in an important strike vote to put pressure on health employers to negotiate a new contract before March 31. HEU secretary-business manager Chris Allnutt says he's confident that he'll be able to deliver a clear message from HEU members from right across the province when the strike vote results are announced Monday morning. Meanwhile, at the bargaining table today, HEABC tabled revised offers for both community and facilities caregivers. HEU and its partner unions are reviewing the employer offers and are preparing to respond over the weekend.
