Introductory course on Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)
HEU offers an annual, union-paid, two-day workshop for occupational health and safety stewards.
Participants learn how to apply the WCB Act and the Occupational Health & Safety Regulation to protect workers’ rights and ensure safe workplaces. They also learn about the responsibilities and duties and responsibilities carried out by local health and safety committees.
HEU has several informational brochures and other literature about occupational health and safety available in the union’s library. Or download and print our Health and safety manual.
Other health and safety workshops
The BC Federation of Labour offers courses through its OH&S Education Resource Centre to educate OH&S committees, representatives and workers on health and safety issues in their workplace.
Another excellent resource is OHSAH’s HELP educational and training workshops for health and safety committees throughout the province.
