Out in front for better care
National Nursing Week: May 10-14, 2010
National LPN Day: May 13, 2010
National Nursing Week is an opportunity to recognize that quality nursing care depends on the contributions of the entire patient care team.
And May 13 has been designated LPN Day in B.C. – a day where we can celebrate how HEU’s LPN members are using their professional skills to do more for B.C. patients and residents.
HEU continues to advocate for increased training, more opportunities, and for the tools our members need to tackle workplace health and safety hazards. Read about some of our recent gains and how we’re building a stronger future for HEU LPNs and care aides.
And during National Nursing Week, the union is also launching a publication to assist members in keeping track of education, upgrading, professional development, and other activities undertaken to maintain and improve their skills and knowledge base.

You can get your own copy of the LPN Professional Development Journal – or the Career Development Journal (for care aides, activity workers and rehab assistants) by filling in this form.
And while supplies last, we’ll also send you HEU’s SBAR* card – a guide for structured communications in patient care.
Message to HEU/CUPE LPNs from CUPE National President Paul Moist.
