The Hospital Employees’ Union will pay Catalyst Paper (formerly NorskeCanada) $125,000 to settle a legal action launched by the company in 2004.
Catalyst had made a legal claim of damages for lost production and labour costs related to a disruption of its operations at the Elk Falls mill on May 1, 2004.
Under the terms of the settlement, the company will not pursue its claim against the union or its members, and the union admits no liability in the matter.
