Ferry workers agree to binding arbitration

B.C. ferry workers ended their strike action this morning after approving mediator Vince Ready’s recommendation to go to binding arbitration.

The B.C. Ferry and Marine Workers Union announced mid-morning they will be working to get the ferries back in operation as quickly as possible.

Throughout the three-day job action, ferry workers received ongoing support from across the labour movement. HEU members and staff were among those who demonstrated their support for the ferry workers refusal to accept huge wage rollbacks and contracting out.
