Help stop the layoffs at Nanaimo Seniors Village

Wear a white arm band on July 9 to show your support

HEU members and their supporters in Nanaimo are ramping up the union’s petition campaign on Monday, July 9 with neighbourhood and worksite canvasses.

And they are asking everyone to wear a white arm band to show their support for the 168 care staff at Nanaimo Seniors Village who were pink slipped two months ago on May 9.

HEU local unions are working closely with the Nanaimo and Duncan District Labour Council who have thrown their support behind the laid off workers.

If you would like to get involved in the campaign to stop the layoffs, or need more information, call 716-0495; or contact union representatives on line at heu-nanaimo@ telus.net
