LRB rejects CSSEA bid to cancel union contracts

Decision hailed as victory for community social services workers

Community Social Services’ workers scored a major victory last week when the Labour Relations Board rejected the employer’s contention that 250 individual union contracts were invalidated by the creation of a 13-union bargaining association.

The LRB also ruled that the Community Social Services Employer’s Association does not have the right to impose terms and conditions of employment on its workers.
