If a group of LPNs votes to join BCNU, will they be covered by the BCNU-negotiated RN agreement?
Everyone agrees the answer is no, including the BCNU.
BCNU has now clearly accepted the fact that LPNs will continue to be covered by the Facilities collective agreement regardless of the vote results in any of its six raid applications.
In a recent bulletin, BCNU acknowledges that LPNs would continue to be covered by the wage scales, health benefits, pensions, and seniority and bumping provisions negotiated by HEU as the lead union in the Facilities Bargaining Association.
And HEU will continue to lead Facilities negotiations with a majority of votes at the bargaining table.
The only question is this: Will LPNs continue to have a united voice at the bargaining table?
Or will our voices be fragmented between unions and regions?
If you've already voted, thank you. It's important that we remain united within our union -- HEU.
