Locals are reminded to submit their Facilities Bargaining Conference (formerly Wage Policy) delegate credentials and accommodation forms to the Provincial Office by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22.
Under Article 4 of HEU's Constitution and By-Laws, eligible delegates must be elected by a quorum of your membership. The union will only accept original, embossed credentials (the green form) along with a cheque for all delegates ($25 per delegate); no faxes or late credentials will be accepted. Accommodation forms may be faxed (604-739-1510) or mailed to the HEU Provincial Office, attention Patti da Silva, 5000 North Fraser Way, Burnaby, B.C., V5J 5M3.
The Facilities Bargaining Conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Vancouver from November 20 (evening session) to November 22. During the conference, delegates will elect a bargaining committee, and debate and vote on bargaining demands submitted by HEU facilities locals.
This follows the union's pre-bargaining occupational conferences – scheduled throughout September – during which bargaining priorities will be identified and forwarded to the Provincial Executive to take to the Facilities Bargaining Conference.
The deadline for submitting bargaining demands is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21. All proposals should be submitted to the Provincial Office on the "Bargaining Demand Forms" (white), and must be signed by your local's chairperson and secretary-treasurer. Please only write one bargaining demand per page.
The facilities subsector collective agreement expires on March 31, 2012.
