Contract talks progress between HEU and South Granville Park Lodge

The HEU bargaining committee continued collective agreement negotiations with South Granville Park Lodge on June 12, following an initial meeting on May 29.

At these meetings, the committee presented and explained the union’s full set of proposals, developed from members’ responses to a survey distributed in May.

These bargaining priorities include wage increases, benefit improvements and a long-term disability plan, as well as issues related to time off and workload.

The bargaining committee took the opportunity to ensure that the employer fully understood their position on all the identified proposals.

Employer representatives are now costing out the HEU proposals in preparation for an upcoming meeting, which is expected to be held in July.



The collective agreement expired June 30, 2008, but the terms and conditions of that agreement remain in place until a new agreement is negotiated and ratified.
