CSS workers required to participate in Employee Intervention Program

Bargaining Bulletins

The Employee Intervention Program (EIP) is part of your collective agreement, negotiated between the Community Social Services Employers’ Association (CESSA) and the Community Social Services Bargaining Association (CSSBA).

It requires members’ participation when unable to work due to illness or injury, and is intended to assist workers to recover and return to work.

If you are a regular full-time employee, and have been ill or injured for five consecutive scheduled work days; or if you are a regular part-time employee, and have been ill or injured for 14 calendar days, your employer will refer your name to the program coordinator at the Healthcare Benefit Trust.

It is important to know that participation in the program is mandatory.

Both CSSEA and the CSSBA will be monitoring the impacts of the EIP through a committee and where necessary will be making adjustments to ensure members are well served by the program.

Please contact your union representative for more information on the program, or the EIP coordinator at Healthcare Benefit Trust at: 604-630-1456 or toll-free at 1-888-630-1456.
