HEU reached a tentative settlement Monday with Compass Group/Marquise covering more than 1,400 housekeeping and food service workers in health care facilities operated by the Provincial Health Services Authority and the Vancouver Island Health Authority, as well Fraser Canyon Hospital in Hope (operated by Fraser Health Authority).

Talks began nearly a year ago and workers delivered a 98 per cent strike mandate to their bargaining committee in early October.

The union is preparing a comprehensive report on the tentative agreement and will schedule ratification meetings where members can review the deal and vote on whether to accept the terms.

Compass/Marquise is the third group of health authority contractors to settle an agreement with HEU. The union reached agreements with Sodexo and Aramark earlier this fall.

Please check our website over the next few days for further details about the ratification process.
