HEU members bargaining for a first contract with D2 Education Services will be returning to the bargaining table in the fall after talks stalled this summer.

The employer had refused to respond to the union’s non-monetary package, tabled on April 21. HEU filed an application with the Labour Relations Board seeking mediation, and on August 21 the board got both parties back to the bargaining table.

Talks are scheduled to continue in September and October, at which time the union will table its monetary package.

And additional mediation dates have been set for October 30 and 31.

The bargaining committee includes members Suk Thind at Evergreen Cottages, Tammy Yochim at Bear Creek Lodge, and HEU bargaining representative Heather Compton.
