2020 Convention Postponed
The HEU Provincial Executive has voted unanimously to postpone the union’s 32nd biennial conven-
tion until the fall of 2021.
The decision to postpone convention, which had been scheduled for November 2020, was difficult. But the safety and welfare of members and the general public were given top priority.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry has extended an order that bans gatherings of more than 50 people.
To maintain HEU’s democracy and accountability, audited financial statements and officer reports will be sent to locals this fall, in lieu of delivery at convention.
The union is also moving much of its education program online, including table officers training, to keep members connected to their union.
