From June 5 to 7, HEU held its first ever Independent Bargaining Conference attracting more than 100 delegates from long-term care and assisted living facilities across the province. It's a sector that's been badly impacted by privatization, contracting out and other policies of the B.C. Liberals that have compromised working and caring conditions in the sector. But members are coming together to share their experiences and plan for a better future for their co-workers, their families and for the seniors they care for everyday.
