Health care thrives with dedicated HEU support workers: celebrate these members on August 28
HEU support workers carry out critical roles on the health care team in housekeeping, dietary, laundry, transportation, and in the supply chain.
But these jobs are often invisible to the public and even to other health care workers.
That’s why the HEU Support Workers subcommittee is asking locals to organize a visible event in the workplace to celebrate our colleagues on Support Workers’ Day, August 28.
This year’s theme – Health thrives with support! – focuses on the importance of quality support services and its link to the delivery of quality care.
Your event might involve a display, a barbeque or a cake during a meal or coffee break. Be creative and send us photos (email them to firstname.lastname@example.org).
The subcommittee is also providing prizes – three for each HEU region (North, Interior, Vancouver Coastal, Fraser and Vancouver Island) – to be drawn from entry forms filled out by members who attend Support Workers’ Day activities at locals around the province.
First prize in each region is an e-reader. The second and third prizes are gift certificates redeemable for clothing and merchandise from the HEU boutique.
Come celebrate HEU Support Workers’ Day on August 28, and show your colleagues how much you appreciate their role on the health care team.
