HEU and the multi-union Facilities Bargaining Associationhave agreed to enter exploratory talks with health employers, Health SharedServices BC (HSSBC) and IBM about future opportunities for union membersworking in Desktop Management Services (DMS) in the event that this work iscontracted out.

The talks will take place without prejudice to the union’sposition that health employers have not met their obligations under the collectiveagreement including for proper consultation on the possible move of DMSservices in B.C.’s health authorities to ISM.

ISM is the IBM subsidiary that is contracted to provide DMSservices within the provincial government’s operations.
