Labour minister gets pink slip
On Thursday, HEU members from the Cowichan Valley and Cowichan Lodge locals joined with other union members, seniors and community groups to issue B.C.’s labour minister with his 60-day lay-off notice.
About 100 local citizens marched on the Duncan office of Graham Bruce, the local MLA, and adorned it with pink slips, signs and posters.
Labour and community groups held similar events across the province to mark the 60 days remaining until British Columbians cast their ballots on May 17.
In Prince George, they gathered in front of health minister Shirley Bond’s constituency office to issue a pink slip to both Bond and Prince George — North MLA Pat Bell.
