Protest at the Hyatt – support Vancouver hotel workers on July 22

Hotel employees in Vancouver –along with supporters – will join 50,000 fellow workers in 15 cities across North America on July 22 to protest against low wages andpoor working conditions.

About 1,600 union members – UniteHere! Local 40 – working atthe Hyatt, Four Seasons, Westin Bayshore and Renaissance hotels are bargaininga new contract. All of these hotels are operated by wealthy multinationalcorporations.

At issue are job cuts, increased workload, and occupationalhealth and safety concerns.

The majority of hotel workers are women and immigrants, whodeserve safe jobs and family-supporting wages.
