Take Action! Three upcoming events around B.C.

Grand March for Housing, Workers Lunch and Big 3 bargainng rally

Grand March for Housing

Saturday, April 4, 12:00 noon

Thousands of people across the province will unite and call for action on homelessness and affordable housing in Vancouver and in communities around the province.

Go to www.citywidehousingcoalition.org for information on rallies in Comox Valley, Colwood, Cranbrook, Gibsons, Kamloops, Kelowna, Mission, Nanaimo, Nelson, Prince George, Princeton, Quesnel, Revelstoke, Richmond, Sechelt, Smithers, Terrace, Victoria and Vancouver.

Workers Lunch at the new Vancouver Convention Centre

Tuesday, April 7, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Gordon Campbell is holding the unofficial launch for the Liberal election campaign at the new Vancouver Convention Centre. Let the guests, the media, the public – and Premier Campbell himself – see that you know he is leading the province in the wrong direction. We can’t afford four more years of Liberal “leadership”. Not when we have such tough challenges ahead.

Rally and march in support of hospital housekeepers and food services workers

Thursday, April 9, 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Vancouver General Hospital)

Start outside the Pattison Pavilion on West 12th. End at Vancouver Coastal Health Authority offices at Ash Street and West Broadway.

HEU is currently trying to bargain new collective agreements with Sodexo, Aramark and Compass. But these government contractors have refused to address the wages and working conditions that keep our hospitals clean and safe.

Send a message to health authorities and government to take responsibility for their contractors:

  • We need clean, safe hospitals and a strong health care team.
  • We need living wages in our communities, not public dollars in corporate pockets.
