Talks to begin for new benchmark for Pharmacy Technician Supervisors

In coming weeks, the union will be sitting down with the Health Employers Association of B.C. (HEABC) to start talks on creating a new, province-wide benchmark for Pharmacy Technician Supervisors.

The union is now in the process of organizing a committee to get as much input as possible from Pharmacy Technician Supervisors. The committee will then meet with employer representatives to define the process through a Letter of Intent, draft the benchmark language, and determine the application of the benchmark for outstanding Job Review Requests (JRRs). 

“Our tentative timeframe is June 2009,” says HEU’s classifications representative Teressa Ford. “We have a lot of work ahead of us to ensure that we have consulted with our members, and gathered feedback and information on the supervisors’ work responsibilities.”

HEU is holding a province-wide conference call for Pharmacy Technician Supervisors on Thursday, May 28 at 4:00 p.m.
