Education and Training

The HEU education department’s top priority is promoting union activism – through a wide range of training opportunities to help members gain new skills, and learn how to tackle issues affecting their jobs and their communities.

Whether it’s a workshop on union activism, training for shop stewards, or attending HEU’s biennial week-long summer school, our goal is to create a supportive and active learning environment for all participants.

HEU also coordinates additional training and educational opportunities for members through our partnerships with other unions, community organizations and educational institutions.
