The How it Works Guide

This guide explains what delegates will experience and what you will do: how voting works, how debate is conducted, how delegates pass constitutional amendments and resolutions, what convention committees do, how Provincial Executive elections are held, and much more.

HEU's Policies and Procedures Manual

HEU's Policies and Procedures Manual guides the operational aspects of the union, describes the union’s positions on various issues, and outlines HEU’s internal policies and procedures. Proposed changes to policies and procedures are adopted by voting on resolutions at convention.

HEU's Human Rights Policy

HEU's Human Rights Policy is designed to protect human rights, prevent bullying and encourage mutual respect at all times, but particularly at conventions, conferences and other HEU sponsored events, and in day to day interaction between members and staff.

HEU Member Code of Conduct

This code sets out what HEU members, and especially our elected leaders and members representing the union, owe one another in our work for the union. It exists to make our shared expectations clear, so that every member understands what solidarity, respect and good governance looks like in practice.
