OH&S Workshops

One-day Know and Assert OH&S Rights Workshops 2017 (formerly called OH&S Rank & File)

This workshop is open to all HEU members. Priority will be given to members who are not on joint occupational health and safety (JOHS) committees. JOHS committee members are invited to apply for the union’s two-day Intro OH&S Workshop.

This one-day workshop will cover many issues, including what the employer must do to eliminate or minimize the risk of musculoskeletal injuries (MSIs), how to apply the OHS Regulation to address the growing problem of on-the-job violence, bullying and harassment, and workload.

Two-day Intro OH&S Workshop

This is an Introductory Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) workshop for HEU members and alternates on joint occupational health and safety (JOHS) committees.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about JOHS Committee roles and functions, how to use the Workers Compensation Act and the OHS Regulation, and how to organize and resolve issues around health and safety.
