Introductory course on Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)
HEU offers an annual, union-paid, two-day workshop for occupational health and safety stewards.
Participants learn how to apply the WCB Act and the Occupational Health & Safety Regulation to protect workers’ rights and ensure safe workplaces. They also learn about the duties and responsibilities carried out by local health and safety committees.
HEU has several occupational health and safety resources available in the union’s library. You can also download and print our Health and safety manual (large file).
Other health and safety workshops
The B.C. Federation of Labour offers courses through its OH&S Education Resource Centre to educate OH&S committees, representatives and workers on health and safety issues in their workplace.
