Local governments, school boards and park boards have a big impact on you and your family. Local elections are coming up, and HEU members are encouraged to get out and vote.

The people we elect make important decisions on everything from public education to garbage and recycling to shared amenities like libraries, recreational facilities and community centres – the things that make a difference in all of our lives.

Across the province, local labour councils, with the participation of many different unions, including HEU locals, have reviewed candidates running for election in their communities.

These labour councils have created lists of candidates in their communities that they endorse based on their positions on issues important to working people.

HEU encourages you to vote for labour-endorsed candidates.

You can find your labour council endorsed candidates at workersvote.ca.

Your local government website will have information on voting locations for October 15, dates for advance polls, and all other election-related details. You can search for your community's website here.
