In the 2014–2019 Facilities Agreement, HEU and its union bargaining partners secured additional monies for the FBA Education Fund. In all, the unions have negotiated $12.5M in support for the Fund since 2006.
The FBA Education Fund is a health care education and training fund managed by the multi-union Facilities Bargaining Association (FBA). The fund provides skills upgrading and career mobility opportunities for union members covered by the Facilities Subsector Collective Agreement. Since it was first established, the Fund has been very popular and has contributed to many members reaching their career goals
The application and selection process is overseen by union members and staff. Over 2,400 applications for training assistance from every occupational group have been supported.
The FBA Education Fund office will be accepting applications until March 31, 2018. Please note that submitting an application within the deadline period does not guarantee funding, as remaining funds will be distributed to fairly and representatively accommodate all unions, regions and job families in the Facilities Subsector.
