The Hospital Employees’ Union would like to welcome Jess Hadley as our new Ethics Commissioner.

With more than two decades of experience, Hadley is a renowned labour and employment lawyer, mediator and investigator. She specializes in resolving workplace issues of discrimination, bullying, harassment, and other misconduct.

Recognized for her integrity and ability to create fair, trauma-informed processes, Hadley looks forward to serving as HEU’s Ethics Commissioner and supporting a healthy, transparent and accountable leadership culture for the union.

The HEU Ethics Commissioner, who is an independent officer in a two-year term, plays a pivotal role in shaping the union’s Ethics Office by building the foundational systems, strategies and relationships needed to support this critical work.

Hadley replaces Ritu Mahil, who recently accepted a Vice-Chair position at the B.C. Labour Relations Board. HEU thanks Ritu for her hard work and dedication in launching the union’s Ethics Office.
