This set of two 2-day in-person workshops (4 days total) is for HEU members who are women of colour (Indigenous, Black or racialized) interested in union leadership. 

In this two-day workshop you will learn how Trustees play an important role in the union.

For lead shop stewards, steward coordinators, and site-specific representatives looking for in-depth training on handling complex grievances. 

A two-day workshop for HEU members who are currently stewarding at their worksite, and who have already taken Level 1 Steward Training. 

 For members and alternates representing HEU on Joint Occupational Health and Safety (JOHS) Committees. Please select the workshop closest to the region where you live. 

Understanding your collective agreement

As part of the labour movement, we stand in solidarity against all forms of injustice and discrimination experienced by workers throughout the world.

This workshop is being offered for the first time in a selected number of languages (Hindi, Punjabi, Tagalog and Spanish), and more options will be offered as we expand this project.

A three-day training for newly elected local chairpersons, vice-chairpersons, secretary-treasurers, and assistant secretary-treasurers. 

HEU invites you to participate in our Intro Shop Steward workshops using either an online format or in-person. We encourage you to apply for the format that works best for you.

The workshops are three days long and designed to offer information, skills and tools for members who are active shop stewards or interested in becoming active shop stewards at the worksite.
