Application for social media use

The HEU name and logo are shared assets that reflect our values, credibility, and collective voice as a union. The social media committee helps ensure their use on social media pages is consistent with HEU policies, supports respectful and accurate communication, and protects the integrity of our organization.

Applications for use will be reviewed by the HEU Social Media Committee in accordance with the HEU Social Media Policy (adopted September 4, 2025).

What local executive position do you hold?
(such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.)
How will it be used, and what type of content will be shared?
  • I/we will abide by the HEU Social Media Policy and all terms of approval granted by HEU.
  • I/we will regularly monitor platform content.
  • I/we will promptly investigate any complaints regarding content.
  • I/we will immediately remove content that violates the Policy, or when requested by HEU.
  • I/we will immediately cease using the HEU name or logo if requested by HEU.
  • I/we acknowledge that additional conditions may be required by HEU (e.g., workshops, restrictions on anonymous posting, pre-approval of posts).
  • I/we understand that administrators and moderators may be held liable for damages resulting from a violation of the Policy.
  • If approved, I agree to post the following disclaimer on the social media platform: “This [name of social media platform] page is for [e.g. members of the HEU Vancouver General Hospital Local]. Postings by individuals do not necessarily reflect the views or policies of the Hospital Employees’ Union. For more information about HEU, see the official HEU website.”
