Member Experience Listening Sessions
At HEU’s 2021 convention, delegates directed the union to continue its work of making HEU a more inclusive and equitable union, to ensure that all members can take part in the important work our union does. This direction came from Resolution 1 and 2 that were passed at Convention.
The work of making the union a more equitable and inclusive is called HEU’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) work. Under this initiative, HEU is working to better understand any barriers that members from equity-seeking groups encounter when they’re looking to be more involved in the union.
To do this, HEU is hosting a series of Member Experience Listening Sessions in April to hear from members. We’re hoping to hear members who have found it difficult to get involved in the union. We want to hear your thoughts, feedback and stories!
Listening session details:
These sessions will take place online and run for two hours. Attendance will be on your own time (there will not be any union book-off provided), but for your participation you will receive a $100 honourarium from Viewpoints Research, the firm running the sessions for HEU.
