The Canadian Labour Congress is hosting Canvassing for Change Workshops in B.C. in March 2025 for union members.
These workshops are targeted to union members who want to get more involved in political action and want to learn how to talk to their friends, family, co-workers, and neighbours about federal election issues. At these one-day trainings, HEU members, along with members from other unions, will get a great introduction to organizing a canvass, discussing federal issues, working with volunteers, and talking to your friends, family, and co-workers about the issues affecting them.
Workshops are available on the following dates and locations:
- March 5 – Burnaby
- March 6 – Surrey
- March 7 – Tri-Cities
- March 13 - Nanaimo
- March 14 – Victoria/Esquimalt
- March 14 – Comox Valley
If you are attending a workshop during your work time, you must secure leave from their employer. Wage replacement will be granted to successful applicants where required, and the costs of wage replacement will be borne by HEU centrally and not by your local. Travel and accommodation will not be covered. Please attend a workshop in your region. Per diems will not be provided as lunch will be served.
